What are Blackheads?
Contrary to popular belief, blackheads are not caused by dirt.
All of acne is caused by the inherited tendency of “retention hyperkeratosis,” which is a fancy name for dead skin cells piling up and sticking together inside the pore along with other debris such as sebum, bacteria and a random rudimentary hair. This debris clumps together to form a plug inside the pore. This is actually called a “comedo”.
When the end of the “plug” gets exposed to air, it oxidizes and turns the dark color; hence giving the “blackhead” its apt name. This process is the comedone’s mature state.
How to Get Rid of Blackheads
Have you ever started with some acne products and they worked for about three weeks and then you started breaking out with blackheads again? This is because your skin actually got used to the products. If you allow your skin to get too used to products, you will never get rid of blackheads.
Blackheads are challenging and frustrating to get rid of, aren’t they? BUT I tell you, it is possible!
- First thing is first: Get an acne specialist at Pure Dermal Care. It is so key to allow a specialist to coach you in exactly how to use the acne products! They are trained to know just how much to push the skin to keep getting clear; and how to pull back when it’s too much for your skin.
- Be Persistent! It is vitally important to follow instructions closely and consistently, as this type of acne can be the toughest to get under control. With the right products at home and steady skin treatments, clear skin is possible. Though it takes time and effort, glowing skin is worth it!
